Most of the software Europe depends on runs on a handful of American clouds. That includes the AI. I think we should be able to run our own, so I started with mine.
Owning the stack means knowing where your data lives, who can read it, and that your tools keep working when a vendor changes its prices or its rules. It's also the best way I know to really understand the systems I build.
I help teams move sensitive workloads and AI onto infrastructure they control, and I write about open, sovereign AI on my blog.

I've been writing software for more than 15 years: web and mobile apps, backend services, and the infrastructure underneath them. Today I'm a software engineer at SAP, where enterprise software meets European data-protection rules.
Most of my side projects start with sport and well-being, from training plans to resilience coaching. I like clean code, interfaces that respect people's time, and shipping things people actually use.
